ILHWA's ginseng products are made from Panax ginseng. Panax ginseng is a plant with a slow-growing, sturdy root. It is considered one of the most important medicinal herbs in traditional Chinese medicine. In fact, it is the world's most famous herb. Panax ginseng has been used for over 5,000 years to optimize human health and well-being in Asia. It has also been used in Chinese ethnopharmacology for over 3,000 years.
Use of carrots between 4.5 and 5.5 years old.
To ensure the highest quality ginseng products, ILHWA uses only Panax ginseng roots between 4.5 and 5.5 years old. ILHWA research has shown that Panax ginseng roots of this age contain the maximum amount of ginsenosides. Older roots have too much fiber with a lower amount and balance of ginsenosides. In addition, other key ingredients such as phenols and polysaccharides are significantly reduced.
Use of whole carrots and carrot sticks.
ILHWA processes the whole root, including the smaller attached rootlets. Most companies peel the roots because this saves time during processing. However, the small rootlets also contain the unique ginsenosides. Therefore, ILHWA deliberately chooses a longer processing procedure for the most effective end product.
No high steam temperature.
