Directions for use You can use a sling in several ways. Depending on the part of the body that needs support and rest, fold it into a sling or wide tie.
Sling To provide support and rest to the forearm, wrist and hand. 1. Grab the cloth at one point and slip 2. Slide the cloth between the injured arm and the body, with the long side vertical and a point at the elbow. 3. Bring the lower slip up, over the shoulder on the injured side, behind the neck to the other slip. 4. Tie the slips with an overhand knot on the shoulder (below the ear) of the healthy side.
5. Fold the point forward and secure it with a safety pin. 6. Make sure your fingertips extend outside the sling.
Tip: Fold the cloth in half once for children.
Narrow tie To provide support and rest to the elbow, upper arm, collarbone and shoulder. 1. Fold the cloth as shown in the picture 2. Place a slip between the injured arm and the body 3. Bring the lower slip up, over the shoulder on the injured side, behind the neck to the other slip 4. Tie the slips with a flat knot on the shoulder (below the ear) of the healthy side 5. Make sure the wrist and hand rest in the cloth
Tip: Fold the cloth narrower for children.
