Gentle Day Menstrual cup M
The Gentleday (Genialday) menstrual cup is made of medical TPE (ThermoPlastic Elastomer). This material is produced in Germany, according to strict guidelines applicable to medical devices.
The elastomer is non-toxic, hypoallergenic and does not irritate the skin. Elastomer is therefore extremely suitable for direct use on the skin and for medical devices/components in and on the body.
The menstrual cup made of this elastomer is soft, durable, tear-resistant and works perfectly within the vaginal microflora. The cup is free of phthalates (plasticizers in plastic), PVC and latex.
Depending on the use and maintenance of the cup, you can use it for 1 to 5 years, and even up to 10 years is possible!
Size M is suitable for women under 25 years old who have not had a vaginal birth and/or have an average menstrual flow.

Use
Using a menstrual cup can be a bit tricky at first, so be patient. You'll need to practice a bit on how to insert and remove the cup, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy and comfortable.
Before using the cup for the first time, you must sterilize it: wash your hands and put enough boiled water in a pan. Submerge the cup completely for 3-4 minutes. Remove the cup from the water, and it's ready for use. We recommend repeating this process after each cycle to keep your cup perfectly clean.
HOW TO INSERT
Step 1. Wash your hands thoroughly and get into a comfortable position. Recommended positions are: squatting, sitting on the toilet, or standing.
Step 2. Fold the cup (Fig. 1). There are two ways to fold the cup:
A – Push both sides of the cup together and fold the cup in half, so it forms a "U".
B – Place a finger on the rim of the top of the cup and push it inward, so it forms a triangle.
Step 3. (Fig. 2 and 3) While holding the folded cup in one hand, gently spread your outer labia with your other hand. Insert the cup into the vagina towards the tailbone, until the stem is level with the vaginal opening and does not protrude. Do not push the end of the stem further than 1.5 cm into the vagina. The cup sits lower than a tampon. Once you have placed the cup, release it; the cup will open and conform perfectly to your vaginal wall.
Step 4. (Fig. 4) To ensure the cup is in the correct position, rotate it 360º, in any direction, by gripping it at the base (above the stem). The cup should rotate easily if it is correctly placed. To ensure the cup is fully open, you can insert one finger into your vagina and gently press against one side of your vaginal wall to create space for the cup to open completely. If the stem causes irritation to the vaginal wall after being correctly inserted, you can remove the cup and trim the stem a little. If the stem is completely cut off, it will be more difficult to remove the cup.
HOW TO REMOVE
1. Wash your hands
2. Assume a comfortable position (standing, sitting on the toilet, or squatting). Insert your index finger and thumb into your vagina and feel for the stem or the bottom of the cup.
3. Pulling will be easier with a slight contraction of the lower abdominal/pelvic floor muscles.
4. Gently pull the stem so you can firmly grip the base of the cup.
5. Gently squeeze the base of the cup to break the vacuum. When removing the cup, hold it at an angle and move it back and forth.
6. Keep the cup vertical when it is completely out of the vagina, so the contents remain in the cup. Then empty the cup into the toilet.
7. Wash the cup with clean water so it's ready for next use. Make sure the holes at the top are thoroughly cleaned. You can also use unscented soap. If clean water is not available, you can dry the cup with toilet paper or a tissue and wash it with clean water later.
OTHER TIPS
The menstrual cup should be emptied at least every 12 hours. We recommend washing and cleaning the cup 2 to 3 times daily after emptying. Once you have charted your cup usage and flow, you will quickly know how often you need to empty your cup. Wash, clean, and thoroughly dry your GENIAL DAY® cup after each menstrual period. Make sure to also clean the suction holes well. Store the cup in the provided cotton pouch.
You can use the cup at night, during sports, and in the swimming pool.
You do not need to remove the cup to urinate or defecate.
Warnings
PREVENTATIVE WARNINGS
Use the cup according to the instructions and only during menstruation.
The cup must be removed before you have intercourse. Remember that the menstrual cup is not a contraceptive and does not protect you against sexually transmitted diseases.
The menstrual cup is for intimate use, so it is better not to share it.
Clean the cup with unscented mild soap and warm water. Do not use perfumed soap, oil-based soap, castile soap, alcohol, antibacterial soap, hand soap, vinegar, tea tree oil, wet wipes, dish soap, peroxide, bleach, or other harsh chemicals.
Do not use oil-based lubricant to insert the cup.
Never store the cup in a plastic bag or an airtight container.
The menstrual cup can be used with an IUD or a pessary. Consult your doctor about this before using the cup.
If you experience negative effects, stop using the cup and consult your doctor.
If your cup shows damage, it is advisable to replace it. Dispose of the cup in the trash. PLEASE NOTE: the color of the cup may naturally fade slightly over time. This does not affect the efficacy of the cup.
Keep the menstrual cup out of reach of children and animals.
How often should you replace the menstrual cup?
Regularly inspect your cup for signs of deterioration, such as a sticky or powdery film, discoloration, odor, and/or experiencing irritation. As it is a personal hygiene product, you should generally replace the cup after 1 year. However, it is up to the user to decide when she wants to replace her cup.
