In Sierra Leone, we partner with Village Hope. Village Hope works to reduce poverty in rural areas of Sierra Leone by creating trained farmers who grow high-quality organic products and earn a steady income. Together, we established the production of the first superior-quality cocoa in the region, a region previously known for low-quality cocoa.

We worked with the farmers to build and set up a central fermentation and drying facility, which has resulted in a significant improvement in quality. The genetic basis of the indigenous cacao is Trinitario cacao from the Caribbean, an absolutely fine-flavored cacao. Thanks to the quality and process improvements, you can now actually taste it!
