Ylang ylang is the sweetest of the essential oils. The cananga tree, native to Indonesia and the Philippines, has intriguing greenish-yellow flowers that release an intoxicating fragrance. The scent is warm, sweet, and floral. Wonderful as a component of a (skin) perfume. Applied to the skin (in a base oil), ylang ylang balances sebum levels and can be used for dry skin, oily skin, and blemishes. However, ylang ylang has its greatest effect on the psyche: it relaxes and calms nervousness.
