A floral water extracted from the blossoms of the bitter orange tree. A fantastically floral and intriguing fragrance. Orange blossom hydrosol is used in cosmetics because of its scent. It lightly moisturizes the outer layer of skin and is beneficial for sensitive skin. Its slightly astringent effect makes orange blossom ideal for oily skin. For dry skin, it's recommended to mix orange blossom with rose or lavender hydrosol. A splash in the bath works as a perfume. Every nursery should have this gentle orange blossom hydrosol to care for baby's skin.

What are hydrolates?
Distilling plants produces two products: essential oil and hydrosol. A hydrosol has different components and active ingredients than the essential oil from the same plant material. Hydrosols are less potent than essential oil, but certainly not inferior! Hydrosols are versatile and easy to use: from refreshing to caring for very sensitive skin.

Citrus aurantium amara flower water, Benzyl alcohol, Dehydroacetic acid, Aqua.

Usage
Because hydrosols are rich in water-soluble ingredients, they are very well tolerated. They are very gentle and therefore suitable for everyone. The possibilities are almost endless. These floral or herbal waters can be used in skin care, household use, and have many other practical applications!

Skin care: as a hydrating and refreshing spray, to dilute clay masks or as a cleansing lotion.

Storage advice
Hydrosols have a shorter shelf life than essential oils. Fresh hydrosols are pure and free of bacteria. It's best to store hydrosols in the refrigerator, or as cool (and dark) as possible. After opening, most hydrosols have a shelf life of 1.5 years.

Chi Natural Life has successfully offered this product for over 20 years without preservatives, but keeping some hydrolats stable over an extended period is extremely difficult. We're increasingly seeing batches fail to meet our high quality standards, with a hydrolat only having a shelf life of six months, for example, which is insufficient. Therefore, we've added a very small amount of Geogard to our Orange Blossom Hydrolat and Witch Hazel Hydrolat. This preservative is Cosmos/Ecocert-compliant and therefore qualifies for the natural cosmetics label. However, this ingredient does make these hydrolats unsuitable for human consumption.
