Nutmeg oil eco bio Nutmeg is native to the tropical rainforests of the Moluccas and the Banda Islands. Today, it is an important crop in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and the West Indies. The tree grows up to 15 meters tall and has elongated, smooth leaves. Light yellow flowers are followed by yellow, pear-shaped fruit. When ripe, this fruit bursts open, releasing the seed (nutmeg). The nutmeg is encased in a bright red husk (mace). This seed and husk are rich in essential oil, which, however, vary in concentration and aroma. In Indonesia, nutmeg is still made into an oil as a means of warming the body. Nutmeg oil ranges from colorless to light yellow. Its scent is spicy and is also widely used in men's perfumes. Did you know that it takes between 10 and 20 kilos of nutmeg to make 1 liter of oil?
Usage This organic essential oil is suitable for use in cooking, among other things. You can add it drop by drop to dishes. Unlike dried herbs, pure essential oils retain their specific scent, flavor, and "Chi"—the life force of the flower or plant.
In addition to their use in cooking, the oils are also suitable for use in skin care or for evaporation.
