A sweet and spicy oil, somewhat reminiscent of mint, is distilled from the seeds of the dill plant. It is a warming and antispasmodic oil that can be diffused when there are spasmodic coughs (bouts) and other airway spasms. The oil helps to dissolve mucus. A good combination is made with frankincense oil. As a flavouring, dill can be added to a fatty oil for an egg dish, fish or potatoes. When used on the skin, the essential oil should be mixed with a massage or fatty vegetable oil.
