Chi Calendula macerate 10% organic

Calendula macerate
Calendula (marigold) is an ancient medicinal plant that has been valued for thousands of years for its skin-restoring properties. The calendula plant is native to the Mediterranean region and Asia but is now also a popular garden plant. Its yellow to golden-orange flowers stand out with their abundant blooms from early spring to late autumn. The Latin name also indicates this: the name calendula is derived from 'calendae', which means the first day of the month.

Skin care & massage
Many are familiar with the efficacy of calendula! The oil can be used pure for many skin problems and is perhaps the best oil for chapped and rough skin. Calendula is also particularly suitable for sensitive or flaky skin and for baby skin prone to (diaper) rash. Thanks to its moisturizing and protective properties, calendula is also a good aftersun oil. Scientific research shows that calendula supports the skin's regenerative capacity. Calendula macerate is also an important ingredient in the Calendula Repair Balm: a first aid for both acute situations and long-term irritated skin.

You can use the macerate purely or mix it with, for example, almond or jojoba for a super soothing (baby) oil. Use calendula macerate for:

Rough patches
Cracked skin
Red and irritated skin
Dehydrated skin
Sensitive skin and babies
Diaper rash and red bottoms
For a relaxing massage oil with calendula macerate, you can use 100ml of fatty vegetable oil and optionally add 10 – 15 drops of essential oil.

What is a macerate?
A macerate is an oil product made from a fatty vegetable oil (usually olive oil) containing active ingredients from flowers or other plant material that has been soaked in the fatty vegetable oil. The name macerate comes from the Latin word 'Macerare', which literally means 'to soak'. Maceration is the traditional way to extract essential oils and other active ingredients from a plant for skin use. To make the macerate, the plant parts are soaked for a month or longer in good quality olive oil. It is then strained, and the macerate is ready.

This macerate is a 10% solution of calendula in olive oil.

A natural antioxidant from rosemary CO2 extract has been added to this macerate. This organic CO2 extract comes from the needles of the rosemary plant and is dissolved in sunflower oil. A small percentage of this natural antioxidant is added to the macerate by the farmer. Because fresh flowers, leaves or roots are used in making a macerate, macerates are susceptible to fungi and other contaminants. This natural antioxidant improves the shelf life of the macerate!

Did you know that hundreds of millions of people in Africa, Asia and South America only use effective, local plant oils for daily skin care?
Calendula or marigold (Calendula officinalis) is an ancient medicinal plant? Calendula flowers were already valued in ancient Greece and Rome for their fantastic restorative effect on the skin.
We mainly know calendula as a macerate, but there is also a CO2 extract of it?
