Beeswax is an important ingredient in natural skincare. It provides firmness to a product, doesn't seal the skin, and has skin-caring properties itself. It's a wonderful product for making balms and salves! In ancient Greece, beeswax and olive oil were mixed with rosewater and used as a kind of cream.

Beeswax is good for dry skin: it has a protective effect and helps prevent the skin from drying out.

Worker bees produce wax using wax glands located on both sides of their abdomen. The secreted liquid wax solidifies in the open air, forming small wax plates. It is kneaded into shape by the bees and used for building honeycomb where honey is stored. After the honey is extracted from the combs, the wax is melted with hot water, filtered, and poured into molds. This creates yellow beeswax with its honey-like scent.
