Chi Arnica Macerate 10% Organic

Arnica Macerate
Arnica is a very old medicinal plant with a long history in Germany and Austria. The plant grows on mountain slopes in Europe and West Asia. The golden-yellow flowers look a bit like small sunflowers and are collected in June and July to be processed into a macerate.

Skincare & massage
In skincare, arnica macerate is used for various skin problems. The macerate is also a helpful aid for (pregnancy) stretch marks. Arnica macerate is ideal for use as a massage oil for tired muscles, for example after exercise. Thanks to its warming properties, arnica is also a helpful aid for supple joints, for chilblains on hands and feet, or simply as a warming massage oil in winter. For a warming massage oil in winter or a muscle oil, it is best to mix the macerate with another vegetable oil such as jojoba, almond, or apricot kernel. Optionally add 10 – 15 drops of essential oil per 100 ml of vegetable oil.

What is a macerate?
A macerate is an oil product of a fatty vegetable oil (usually olive oil) containing active substances from flowers or other plant material that has been soaked in the fatty vegetable oil. The name macerate comes from the Latin word 'Macerare', which literally means 'to soak'. Maceration is the traditional way to use essential oils and other active substances from a plant for the skin. To make the macerate, the plant parts are soaked for a month or longer in good quality olive oil. After that, it is strained, and then the macerate is ready.

This macerate is a 10% solution of arnica in olive oil.

Did you know that:
The best time to make a macerate is in the summer? In June and July, the flowers are collected, dried, and processed into tinctures and macerates. This process can take a few months.
The large, golden-yellow arnica flowers can grow to 30 – 60 centimeters? The flowers stand separately on hairy stems and therefore resemble small sunflowers.
Arnica is the old Greek name for the plant? The name may be derived from 'arnakis' meaning 'lamb's fleece', due to the soft leaves.
Hundreds of millions of people in Africa, Asia, and South America only use effective, local plant oils for daily skincare?
