The argan tree only grows in southern Morocco and comes in two varieties: as a food oil, pressed from roasted nuts, and the cosmetic odourless argan oil from unroasted nuts. Argan oil has good shelf life and prevents the formation of free radicals on the skin. It contains more vitamin E than, for example, olive oil. Furthermore, the oil contains many carotenoids and phytosterols. Argan possesses good skin-softening and wrinkle-reducing qualities and is suitable for damaged and mature skin. Argan oil is also very suitable for the eye contours. Argan combines very well with rosehip oil for skin repair and preventing (pregnancy) stretch marks.
