Instructions for use
1. Turn on the thermometer by pressing the on/off button You will hear a short beep and the display component check will be performed. After the component check, the last measured temperature value will be displayed for 2 seconds. Then the age symbols and age categories will scroll across the display until the Age Precision™ button is pressed. 2. Select the age by pressing the Age Precision™ button When the Age Precision™ button is pressed, the age category symbols stop scrolling; it stops on the symbol that was displayed at the time of pressing. Continue pressing the button until the desired age setting is displayed. The thermometer has 3 age settings: • 0-3 months • 3-36 months • 36 months to adulthood After selecting the age, the age category symbol remains illuminated. The display shows three dashes. The thermometer is ready for measurement. 3. Perform the measurement by holding the thermometer at the chosen measurement site. As soon as the thermometer detects a temperature rise in measurement mode, the device starts measuring. If the thermometer does not measure a temperature rise, the age symbol and the three dashes will be displayed until the thermometer automatically switches off. After the measurement (generally 8 seconds after detecting the temperature rise), a confirmation beep indicates that an accurate temperature measurement has been taken: 1 long beep for a normal temperature, 10 short beeps for elevated temperature and high temperature. The result is shown on the display. To interpret the measured value, use the color-coded display, which interprets the temperature based on the patient's age according to medical guidelines. Axillary use This method is used for babies and small children. 1. Dry the armpit with a dry towel. 2. Place the probe tip under the arm so that the tip makes contact with the skin, and position the patient's arm next to his/her body. For a small child, it is sometimes helpful to hold the child close to you so that his/her arm stays next to the body. This prevents room temperature from affecting the measurement. 3. When the peak temperature is reached, beeps will sound. The temperature is now confirmed. When the thermometer is removed from the measurement site, the corresponding color will be displayed. 4. Turn off the thermometer and clean it as indicated below. Oral use This method is suitable for children old enough to hold the thermometer safely in their mouth. 1. It is important to place the tip of the thermometer well under the tongue, either left or right, to obtain a good, accurate reading. Place the sensor tip at one of the locations under the tongue marked with "√" (Fig. 2). Keep the patient's mouth closed and have him/her sit still to ensure an accurate measurement. 2. When the peak temperature is reached, beeps will sound. The temperature is now confirmed. When the thermometer is removed from the eating place, the corresponding color will be displayed. 3. Turn off the thermometer and clean it as indicated below. Rectal use Often used for babies and small children, or when oral or axillary measurement is difficult. 1. Apply a small amount of water-soluble lubricant to the tip of the thermometer to facilitate insertion. Do not use petroleum jelly. Read the lubricant label to ensure you are using the correct type. 2. Place the patient on his/her side. The correct position for babies is prone, with their legs hanging down. You can place the baby over your knees, on the edge of a bed or a changing table. In this position, the thermometer can be safely and easily inserted into the rectum. 3. Gently insert the tip of the thermometer a MAXIMUM of 1.3 cm into the rectum. Stop if you feel resistance. Hold the thermometer in place during the measurement. 4. When the peak temperature is reached, beeps will sound. The temperature is now confirmed. When the thermometer is removed from the eating place, the corresponding color will be displayed. 5. Turn off the thermometer and clean it as indicated below.

Warnings
Do not boil or put in the dishwasher. Doing so will cause the thermometer to malfunction and void the warranty.
