Use
For measuring body temperature.

Instructions for use
Underarm use This method is used for babies and young children. 1. Dry the armpit with a dry towel. 2. Place the probe tip under the arm so that the end makes contact with the skin, and place the patient's arm next to their body. With a small child, it is sometimes helpful to hold the child close to you so that their arm stays next to their body. This prevents room temperature from affecting the measurement. 3. When the peak temperature is reached, beeps will sound. The temperature is now confirmed. When the thermometer is removed from the measurement site, the corresponding color will be displayed. 4. Turn off the thermometer and clean it as indicated further on. Oral use This method is suitable for children old enough to safely hold the thermometer in their mouth. 1. It is important to place the tip of the thermometer well under the tongue, either on the left or right, to obtain a good, accurate reading. Place the sensor tip on one of the spots under the tongue marked with "√" (Fig. 2). Keep the patient's mouth closed and have them sit still to ensure an accurate measurement. 2. When the peak temperature is reached, beeps will sound. The temperature is now confirmed. When the thermometer is removed from the eating site, the corresponding color will be displayed. 3. Turn off the thermometer and clean it as indicated further on. Rectal use Often used for babies and young children, or when oral or underarm measurement is difficult. 1. Apply a small amount of water-soluble lubricant to the tip of the thermometer to make insertion easier. Do not use petroleum jelly. Read the lubricant label to ensure you are using the correct type. 2. Lay the patient on their side. The correct position for babies is on their stomach, with their legs hanging down. You can place the baby over your knees, on the edge of a bed, or a changing table. In this position, the thermometer can be safely and easily inserted into the rectum. 3. Gently insert the tip of the thermometer a MAXIMUM of 1.3 cm into the rectum. Stop if you feel resistance. Hold the thermometer in place during the measurement. 4. When the peak temperature is reached, beeps will sound. The temperature is now confirmed. When the thermometer is removed from the eating site, the corresponding color will be displayed. 5. Turn off the thermometer and clean it as indicated further on.
