Bountiful Organic Quinoa

Quinoa is a crop that primarily originates from South America. It grows in countries like Peru and Bolivia, but also in the Rocky Mountains in the United States. Although it closely resembles a grain, it is not. Nevertheless, it is often consumed as a grain. Quinoa is related to spinach and beetroot and has a nutty flavour.

Quinoa can be eaten as a meat substitute. It also satisfies a hearty appetite.

Delicious instead of rice, in a salad, in pancakes, the possibilities are endless.

Different types of quinoa are available: red, black, green and white. They all taste the same. Quinoa is becoming more widely available in supermarkets and is growing in popularity.

Preparation
Quinoa should always be rinsed with water first. Then you can cook it. For 1 part quinoa, use 2 parts water and let it cook for about five to ten minutes. You can tell when it's done when the water has been absorbed and the quinoa is translucent. After that, let it stand for ten minutes with the lid on the pan before further processing.
