Psyllium husk fiber/flea seed organic Psyllium husk fiber is the outer shell of psyllium, the seeds of a plant native to Iran, India, and Pakistan. The product is used by people who want to add extra fiber to their diet, for example, when following a gluten-free diet.
Usage Consume a maximum of 2 tablespoons per day with 2 glasses of water, soup, fruit juice, or other liquid. A teaspoon is often sufficient. The fiber is ideal for incorporating into (gluten-free) bread, yogurt, muesli, and rice pudding.
For children (ages 6-12), limit use to a maximum of 1 tablespoon per day. Drink plenty of fluids when using psyllium. Any medications should be taken at least 1 hour before or after using psyllium.
