Biocard Helicobacter pylori test
For the first time, it is now possible to easily test for the presence of Helicobacter Pylori at home (with 1 small drop of blood). The test provides a clear answer and is very easy to perform at your convenience.
This (stomach) bacterium is responsible for 80% of stomach ulcers. In addition, the bacterium plays a role in the development of gastritis and, in the long term, stomach cancer. Timely detection of the bacterium is therefore important, as it can also be effectively treated.
A healthy stomach? Test at home now!
This self-test is suitable for home use. However, the test cannot distinguish between a previous infection and an active infection. The result is available within minutes. The test only requires a small drop of blood to detect antibodies against Helicobacter pylori (the "stomach ulcer" bacterium). This bacterium is generally well treatable with an antibiotic or several antibiotics, often in combination with antacids.
Maag-Check® is recommended for:
1. Complaints (such as (vague) pain in the stomach area, nausea, bloating, loss of appetite, and sometimes vomiting)
2. Suspected presence of the bacterium.
2. It is also an excellent test to check whether the bacterium has been completely eliminated after treatment.
After a confirmed infection and antibiotic treatment, it takes an average of up to 6 months for the antibodies to disappear from the blood. Maag-check® is a quick and easy test to rule out that the bacterium is still (or again) present after this period. It is advisable to repeat the test twice a year if there was a previous infection. You can easily do this at home. Antibiotic treatment does not guarantee that the Helicobacter Pylori bacterium will not re-emerge. In some cases, it may take longer for all antibodies to disappear from the blood and for the test to become negative.
