Bepanthen Tattoo Ointment is a "greasy" ointment that forms a protective layer on the skin. This is important for tattoo aftercare and skin care because it protects the skin from external influences. Creams contain more water and don't form a protective layer. Therefore, we recommend tattoo ointment instead of tattoo cream during the initial aftercare phase.
For continued care of the tattooed skin after the aftercare phase, it's wonderful to use a cream. The advantage of a cream is that it absorbs quickly. A cream can also be used effectively to hydrate skin that has been irritated by the tattoo.
Bepanthen Nourishing Cream, like Bepanthen Tattoo Ointment, was tested in a study after getting a tattoo and showed good results**.
