Making bamboo salt requires a great deal of experience and patience. The sea salt is placed in tubes made of three-year-old bamboo and sealed with red mountain clay.
Then heated - ground - heated - ground up to 9 times for 8-15 hours on a hot pine wood fire.

The sulfur-rich bamboo carbonizes and the salt gradually absorbs some of the sap and minerals from the bamboo and the red clay.
