Known as the Scots Pine, a tall evergreen conifer. The essential oil is sometimes extracted from the needles, young shoots and pine cones by steam distillation, but the best oil is obtained by dry distillation from the needles. Pine has a turpentine-like top note and a dry, sweet, woody undertone.

Pine needle is a very good remedy for dissolving mucus and also helps very well for the nasal passages and bronchi.
