Bamboo salt fine
Making bamboo salt requires a great deal of experience and patience. Sea salt is placed in tubes made of three-year-old bamboo and sealed with red mountain clay. Then, the salt is heated—ground—heated—ground up to nine times over a period of 8–15 hours over a hot pine fire. The sulfur-rich bamboo carbonizes, and the salt absorbs some of the bamboo's sap and minerals.
