What is this medicine used for? Medical device for the prevention of certain forms of non-melanoma skin cancer in at-risk patients
Directions for use Avoid direct sunlight and wear protective clothing. Apply Actinica generously to uncovered areas of skin every morning before your first sun exposure, distributing it evenly. Actinica should be applied before applying cosmetic products (allow Actinica to penetrate the skin for a few minutes). After prolonged contact with water or heavy sweating, reapply Actinica. Skin surface area varies; the following table provides the required dosage: - Face (including ears and nose) at least 2 pumps - Pump scalp at least once - Pump at least 2 times per forearm - Pump at least once on the top of your hand
The packaging includes dosage instructions for the parts of the body that often come into contact with daylight throughout the year.
For optimal distribution and a pleasant feeling on the skin, the dose can be applied in two doses, for example, by waiting 5–10 minutes after the first dose before applying the second dose.
Please ensure that no more than 10–15 minutes elapse between the first and second application. The indicated dosages for the face, scalp, etc. can serve as a reference for the required dosage for other areas of the skin. During initial use, the pump must be pressed several times to draw the lotion into the pump system. The first dose does not yet provide a full dose.
Hold the pump as upright as possible and pump slowly to obtain a full dose. At-risk patients with weakened immune systems should wear protective clothing and avoid direct contact with the sun.
Warnings The UV filters in Actinica Lotion can discolor clothing, plastics, and other materials, such as swimming pool liner. We therefore recommend not applying Actinica Lotion immediately before dressing.
Side effects An allergic reaction to one of the ingredients of Actinica Lotion cannot be ruled out. If irritation, rash, or sunburn occur after only brief sun exposure, this could be a sign of an adverse reaction. In this case, you should use a different product.
Carefully avoid contact with eyes and wear good sunglasses, as Actinica Lotion can cause a burning sensation if it comes into direct contact with the eyes. If it does come into contact with the eyes, rinse thoroughly with water.
