A3 Books The earth, the sky and the trees

From ancient times, trees around the world have fulfilled a function in people's lives in terms of well-being, meaning, and existential questions. Their branches reach for the sky and their roots are anchored in the earth. They not only conduct an energy surplus from both sides, but also resonate with these currents. In this way, they form a stable connection between heaven and earth and support our much less stable vertical way of life in a calm, even manner.
The properties of trees have not changed since the Stone Age, but people's needs and wants have. Maja Kooistra has been researching the properties of trees for almost her entire life, and sacred trees have her special attention. These already existed in the Mesolithic and still do. They play a role in animistic and shamanistic religions, among the Celts and Germanic peoples, but also in major world religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism. People have apparently always had specific experiences at such trees. Kooistra investigated what these experiences are and how such power trees originate. She linked ancient knowledge about landscape use to contemporary elementary physics. This led to new insights into the function of tree species and explained much about the use of former power places, such as dolmens and stone circles, for which there has been no conclusive explanation until now. This book provides about fifty examples. They show us how many possibilities there are to make use of their powers.
